Tagging Out

‎"Tagging Out," consists of photographs of nude bodies with images of graffiti digitally projected on them. The images projected were photographs that I took of found graffiti in Grand Rapids. My work explores how people choose to 'do' gender. The graffiti reflects how gender is often perceived to be performed in a subversive manner. Society projects gender norms onto people, but many fight against it. They 'graffiti' the norm and do gender in their own way. My work explores the norms and exceptions of how individuals present themselves as gendered beings.
